MIAMI MOANS: LIFE IN THE WAR ZONE: TRIPPY TOURISTS

I wrote about this not that long ago -- my question as to why tourists keep insisting on visiting Florida where the Covid 19 scenario is among the worst in the country.

This past Labor Day weekend was a case in point -- beaches and theme parks were at full capacity. Earlier this month one report said that nearly ONE MILLION Americans planned a visit to Florida for Labor Day weekend. Other big destinations were Arizona, Hawaii, Nevada, Mexico and the Caribbean.

But it was not all perfection, fun and games once the trippy tourists arrived.

It seems they were not happy with the curfew in Miami Dade County which starts at 10PM until to 6AM.

And what did that mean?

According to the Emergency Order 27-20 "no person shall make use of any street or sidewalk for any purpose, except police, fire rescue, first responder, medical, health care, media and utility repair service personnel."

So anyone on holiday could only hang around the front porch of their hotels or else walk their dogs close to the building.  That put a crimp on their plans to walk the beach hammered out of their minds or up and down the streets raising hell. The beaches were indeed open but limitations such as social distancing and masks were required.

Did any of these people bother to read about what is going on in this neck of the woods? Further, thanks to them, the potential for a spike in Covid 19 cases has increased. That's mostly for all of us who live here.

Meanwhile gatherings of more than ten people are still not permitted. Anyone catching sight of such a thing can report them at 305-4-POLICE.

Wear the masks, people, wear the masks.
