MIAMI MOANS: LIFE IN THE WAR ZONE -- DESANTIS TANKING IN POLLS

According to the latest Quinnipiac Poll 79 % of Florida's registered voters believe masks should be required by the state.

Meanwhile that same poll also shines a light at the shrinking approval rating for Florida's Governor Ron DeSantis -- tanking at 41% as of today.

This is the lowest his approval rating has been since he took office in 2019. Considering you would think of this as his honeymoon period, DeSantis should be taking a long hard look at what he's doing -- or not doing.

It's well known that in Florida, traditionally a Republican leaning state, DeSantis' behavior is in keeping with wanting to support another fellow Republican whose polls are showing he's not doing very well, either.

That same poll shows that 51% of Floridian voters say they are backing Joe Biden, compared to 35% who say they will vote for Donald Trump.

The mask issue has grown in visibility the last couple of days, with Trump turning up wearing one just about all the time and changing his tune that Americans should wear them. Biden has been pretty much wearing a mask most of the time as he makes the rounds.

The Quinnipiac University Poll is an independent survey which has a reputation for much accuracy. It is often cited by major news outlets overseas along with The Washington Post, USA Today, Fox News, The New York Times, CNN and Reuters.

The City of Miami had slapped a fee on anyone caught NOT wearing a mask -- but in the last 24 hours it went up from $50 to $100 if caught not wearing it.

And as far as house parties, City of Miami Mayor Francis Suarez says he's looking into the legality of limiting the number of people at house parties to less than ten people.

Lockdown, here we come.

Wear the damn masks, people, wear the damn masks.
